Hurricane-Ready Windows and Doors
Protection, Comfort and Style for Every Opening
Impact windows and doors combine laminated glass with reinforced frames that are tested to resist wind-borne debris. Once code-approved impact products are installed, you no longer have to put up shutters before a storm.
Impact glass also helps quiet outside noise and can be ordered with energy-efficient Low-E coatings that reduce heat gain. We help you compare styles, frame colors and glass options for your home.

Codes & Permits
Built for Florida’s Hurricane Codes
South Florida has some of the strictest building codes in the country. Every window and door we install must carry the right product approval for your county, and the work is permitted and inspected.
High-Velocity Hurricane Zone
Miami-Dade and Broward counties are part of the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone in the Florida Building Code, with the state’s toughest wind and impact requirements.
Product Approvals
Products installed in the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone need an approval for that zone, such as a Miami-Dade County Notice of Acceptance (NOA). Elsewhere, Florida Product Approval applies.
Permits & Inspections
Replacing exterior windows and doors generally requires a building permit. We file it and schedule the inspections for you.
Insurance Discounts
Florida insurers are required to offer discounts for qualifying wind-mitigation features, including protected openings. Ask your insurance agent how a wind mitigation inspection may affect your premium.

FAQ
Impact Windows & Doors FAQ
Which impact window brands do you install?
We install PGT, ECO and Mr. Glass impact windows and doors, and we help you compare their styles, frame colors and glass options.
Do I need a permit to replace windows and doors?
Yes. In South Florida, replacing exterior windows and doors generally requires a building permit. We prepare the application, including the product approvals, and schedule the inspections.
What is the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone?
It’s the part of Florida with the strictest wind and impact requirements in the Florida Building Code, and it covers Miami-Dade and Broward counties. Windows and doors installed there must carry an approval for the zone, such as a Miami-Dade County Notice of Acceptance (NOA).
Do impact windows replace hurricane shutters?
Yes. Code-approved impact windows and doors protect the openings themselves, so you don’t need to put up shutters before a storm.
Can impact windows lower my insurance premium?
They may. Florida law requires insurers to offer discounts for qualifying wind-mitigation features, and protected openings are one of them. A wind mitigation inspection documents these features. Ask your insurance agent how it applies to your policy.
How long does an impact window project take?
It depends on the number of openings, the products you choose and the manufacturer’s lead time. We include a schedule with your estimate and keep you updated from the order to the final inspection.
Do you also replace roofs?
Yes. Roofing is handled by Novara Roofing under our certified roofing license CCC1335287, so your windows, doors and roof can be planned together.
